We love children and are ready to devote our lives to a child.

Now is such a wonderful time for us to become parents. We are financially and emotionally ready for the journey, and are so happy that we can provide a welcoming and joyful home full of support, fun, education, music, art, and most importantly love. Together we are blessed to be surrounded by so many friends and family who offer love and laughter, and plenty of opportunity for vacation, fun, and adventure.
We own our home in a beautiful, safe, family neighborhood in New York City with access to amazing schools, parks, zoos and gardens. Our neighborhood really has a small town feel where we know our neighbors and the local store owners.
We are excited to start a family and to share our life, love, humor, and wonderful friends and family with your child.

How We Met…
We met the old-fashioned way, at a neighborhood restaurant in New York City, where a chance conversation turned into hours of talking and laughing about everything, from our favorite bands, to family, to dream travel destinations. Though Rudolph was too shy to ask for Kaye’s number that first night, fate gave us another chance when we bumped into each other through our mutual friends Ayana and Damian a few weeks later. This time, we didn't let the opportunity slip away.
Our early dates were filled with lots of easy conversation, live music shows and exploring the city's restaurants and cafes together. We found ourselves fitting naturally into each other's lives, sharing not just our love of music, food, family and travel, but discovering all the little things that made us click. What started as an ordinary meeting turned into something extraordinary - a partnership that grows stronger and more special with each passing day.

Becoming Us
Things are just so easy and fun between us, and we love spending time together. It felt like we were always on the same wavelength, and before we knew it, we were practically living at each other's places anyway! So, less than a year after we first met, we decided to take the plunge and officially move in together. It just felt right, and we were excited to start this new chapter in our relationship.
After a few wonderful years of living together, sharing adventures, and creating countless memories, we both felt our relationship deepen and take on new meaning. Then, during a cousin’s wedding in the Philippines, surrounded by family and the warmth of celebration, Rudolph knew that the time had come to make it official. Soon after, he planned a vacation for us to the stunning Greek islands, where we could enjoy each other and savor the beauty of the sea and sky.
One perfect day off the island of Paxos, as we drifted on a small boat surrounded by crystal-blue waters, Rudolph got down on one knee and asked Kaye to marry him. It was a moment we’ll never forget—intimate, heartfelt, and filled with joy. When we returned home, we set to planning our wedding, imagining a day that would capture the love we felt. In October of 2019, we married in Brooklyn, surrounded by the laughter and love of friends and family. It was a perfect beginning to this new chapter in our lives together.

Our Pet, Max
And then there's Max! He's a sweet black cat with a little white patch on his chest. We got him from a friend who was fostering him when he was two. Max is the friendliest cat ever, always wanting to cuddle. He's also super talkative, especially when he's hungry (which is always!) We love having him around – he makes our house feel even more like a home.

Max!

Kaye, on growing up…
I grew up in Philadelphia with my mom Jean, dad Frank, and older brother Todd, and we are all huge Phillies fans! Adoption is already a wonderful part of our family since my father was adopted. Everyone has been so supportive and excited to welcome another member through adoption. My family has always been incredibly close, with nightly dinners, board games, and visits to parks and museums. Reading was a big part of my childhood too, my parents read to my brother and me every night, and this is something that I can’t wait to continue as a mom. Our family has expanded to include our sister-in-law Diedra and nephew Oliver, and we continue to visit parks, play board games, and share books together.
I was also very artistic as a child, an interest that I followed to art school in NYC and my current work as a Pre-K teacher in the NYC public school system. I still love all things creative: baking, photography, visiting museums, and growing plants and veggies on our balcony. Rudolph and I hope to expose your child to as many things as possible so that your child finds their own talents and interests, and we will always encourage them to pursue what they love.

Rudolph, on growing up…
I grew up in Sydney, Australia, where my Italian mother Laura and Portuguese father Joseph had made their home after moving across the world and finding each other. My younger sister Kelly and I were surrounded by a vibrant mix of cultures, languages, and family traditions. Music was a huge part of my childhood - I spent eight wonderful years singing in a boys' choir, which gave me some of my fondest memories. Like many Aussie kids, I was drawn to the water and spent countless hours swimming, something I still love to do today. I was always the kid taking things apart to see how they worked, following my curiosity from mechanical toys to electronics, and eventually discovering my passion for computers, a field I have a very successful career in today. Kaye and I are excited to share our interests and hobbies with your child and we'll also enthusiastically support any unique passions they develop along the way!

Kaye, on working with children…
I became a teacher because I love spending time with children. I love their joy and excitement, sense of wonder and discovery, and the magic that they find in the everyday. Prior to becoming a teacher, I spent 6 months working with children in rural South Africa. I loved it so much that I decided to pursue a career in the NYC public school system.

Kaye, on life with Rudolph…
Life with Rudolph is full of celebration. He’s always finding ways to recognize special moments: baking a cake for my birthday, going to a fancy restaurant to mark the end of the school year, and surprising me with cookies from my favorite bakery or flowers just because.
We both love to cook and take turns making dinner almost every night. Sometimes we cook our favorite meal together: pasta with spicy sausage and broccoli rabe. We’ll put on music and dance around the kitchen and then enjoy the delicious dinner that we made. We love discussing the foods we look forward to preparing for a little one.

We are always making each other laugh!

Rudolph, on life with Kaye…
Life with Kaye is full of joy and wonder. She is constantly looking to make the lives of those around her better, sharing her creativity and passion in both her work as a teacher, and her interests in art, books, and cooking. She loves nothing more than getting a thoughtful gift for someone on our travels or coming up with a creative variation on a new recipe, between sharing humorous anecdotes from her day that bring a smile to my face.

We love spending time with our niece and nephews…
Our niece Evelyn and nephews Oliver and Xavier are so important to us, and we try to see them as often as we can. Whether it's packing up a picnic basket and heading to the park for an afternoon of games and laughter, having them over for family get-togethers and holiday celebrations, or taking them on exciting adventures to the zoo, we cherish every moment we have with them. We love watching them grow and learn, and we're so happy to be a part of their lives. We know that our siblings will feel the same about a child we bring into the family, and we are so excited about the idea of the family growing and embracing one another.
Our parents are so excited about our adoption plans and can’t wait to spoil this child. Rudolph’s mom is very sweet and nurturing and plans to come and stay with us to help us and enjoy her newest grandbaby.

And we really love Halloween!
Our neighborhood comes alive with decorations and we love walking around to see them, something we can’t wait to share with a child. We dream of dressing up in costumes as a family, going trick-or-treating, and watching one of our favorite movies all together: ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas.’

Thanksgiving is Family-Time
Each Thanksgiving we drive down to Kaye's parents in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to get together with immediate and extended family. The kitchen becomes a bustling hub of activity as three generations of family recipes come together. Kaye and her brother Todd split the main dishes: a big roast turkey and stuffing, macaroni and cheese (Kaye's favorite food in the world!), sweet potatoes, and gravy made from scratch. Kaye’s mom Jean always makes her famous green bean casserole, a recipe that's been part of family gatherings since Kaye was small. These dishes share the table with roasted vegetables, homemade cranberry sauce, and the same beloved apple and cherry pies that Kaye's grandmother used to bake. Kaye’s dad Frank is in charge of decorating the table, starting with the red and yellow flowered tablecloth that belonged to his mom. Then, as we all gather around the table—children squirming in their seats and adults smiling over the feast—we take turns sharing something we’re thankful for. It’s a moment of heartfelt connection, with stories of gratitude sparking laughter and sometimes a tear or two. Afterward, we all find our way to the couches, sinking into the cushions with full bellies, sharing more family stories and reliving cherished memories. At some point someone puts a movie on, and we end the day with most of us dozing off under blankets, kids sprawled everywhere, the smell of pie and coffee still hanging in the air while the house buzzes with the warmth of being together.

Cherry pie. Still made with the same recipe Kaye’s grandmother Dolores used.

Christmas is our favorite time of year
Kaye’s mom collected ornaments throughout her childhood, and we love going together to pick out our tree, decorating it while blasting classic, cheesy Christmas songs. We hang stockings to open on Christmas Eve. Everyone has their own pattern, and we look forward to adding a new pattern for a little one. And then we start Christmas day with homemade aged cheddar and thyme biscuits.
We are so excited to share our Christmas traditions with a child. Baking cookies to leave for Santa (and carrots for the reindeer - another Rudolph!) We’ll read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve, just like Kaye did with her parents every year when she was little. Christmas morning will be filled with opening presents and eating biscuits, and then we’ll roast a big turkey and have stuffing and gravy for dinner, alongside Kaye’s cranberry sauce with vanilla and ginger. Dessert will be those same cookies that were shared with Santa, and then we’ll all cuddle up on the couch with Max and watch a classic holiday movie like Elf.
